ಮೈಸೂರು, ಏ. 2 : ಎರಡು ಗುಂಪುಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಜಗಳ ತಾರಕ್ಕೇರಿದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಪು ಚೆದುರಿಸಲು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಅಶ್ರುವಾಯು ಸಿಡಿಸಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ನೂಕುನುಗ್ಗಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಎಎಸ್ಐ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮಂದಿ ಪೇದೆಗಳು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ಬುಧವಾರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಕ್ಯಾತಮಾರನಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉದ್ವಿಗ್ನಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಷೇಧಾಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ತೀವ್ರ ಕಟ್ಟೆಚ್ಚರ ವಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಘಟನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕು ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿರುವ ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮಿಗಳು ಮಾಜಿ ಮೇಯರ್ ಎಚ್ ಎನ್ ಶ್ರೀಕಂಠಯ್ಯ ಅವರ ಮನೆಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಪೀಠೋಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪುಡಿಗಟ್ಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅನೇಕ ವಾಹನಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆಗಳು ಮೇಲೂ ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಘಟನೆ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆಯ ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಪೊಲೀಸರು, ಭಾರಿ ಬಂದೋಬಸ್ತ್ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಕ್ಕಾಂ ಹೂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳ ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎಸ್ ಎ ರಾಮದಾಸ್ ಘಟನಾ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಚಿ ನೀಡಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 24 ಸಿಆರ್ ಪಿಎಫ್ ತುಕಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಭದ್ರತೆಗೆ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಹಿತಕರ ಘಟನೆ ಜರುಗದಂತೆ ನಿಗಾ ಇರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಮೂಲಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿವೆ. ಪ್ರಕರಣವನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ತನಿಖೆ ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Two youth purchased a solution from a shop near Kyathamaranahalli tent yesterday morning, it is said. They later sat on a compound wall near the tent and indulged in eve-teasing, it is alleged.
The Garuda Police vehicle attached to Udayagiri Police Station picked up the youth based on a complaint filed by the public. The youth, who were lodged in the Police Station were let-off late in the evening, it is said.
Later in the night, the mob attacked former Mayor H.N. Srikantaiah's house at 10 pm. Srikantaiah ran to the third floor of the house to escape and informed the matter to the Police over mobile phone, it is learnt.
Srikantaiah, who spoke to Star of Mysore said that as soon as the violent mob began to attack his house, he informed the Police. But by time the Police arrived, the mob had barged into his house breaking open the door and threw all belongings including furniture on to the street and set them ablaze. Though a Police jeep arrived at the spot, it beat the retreat as the mob pelted stones at it.
The group later attacked the neighbouring houses and temples causing severe damages to them.
CM's Parliamentary Secretary and MLA S.A. Ramdas visited the spot early this morning.
ASI Haumanthappa and Constable Siddiqui of Udayagiri Police Station, who were injured in the violence, are undergoing treatment at the ICU of Apollo BGS Hospitals.
